Monday, Nov 25, 12:30?

Hi folks,
We had a giant work crew out today but we only had a few leaf bags. We thought maybe, if I could get more bags, we could do a bit more raking and bagging on Monday. I propose one quick hour of raking from 12:30-1:30 on Monday. I got lots of fresh bags at Home Depot tonight. Let's bag up and sweep and prepare the Greenway for the Britannia Open House next Thursday.
Hope you can make it.
Penny

Here's part of today's energetic and chilly work crew!!

No work party in the Greenway on Monday

Hi folks,

Because Monday is Remembrance Day and a lot of people are away or are going away over the weekend, we won't have a work party Nov 11th. The oak trees have dropped most of their leaves. We filled up eight bags on Monday, and last time I looked, the bags were still piled up under the tree at the curb waiting for City garden-waste pick-up.

Let's plan to have one last work party on Monday November 18th, 3:00, before we take our winter break.
We'll have this one last chance to rake up the remaining leaves and maybe put markers around the hostas, to protect them in the spring when their tender little shoots come up. And anything else anyone thinks is a good idea...
I won't send another message advertising the 18th, so please, if you're going to be around, write it in your calendar.

We're going to have a Britannia Neighbours meeting in December to plan for the spring and catch up. I'll send an invitation in a couple of weeks.

Cheers and thanks,
Penny

Work Party, Greenway, 3:00 Monday!

Hi Britannia Neighbours,
As usual, provided the weather is nice (but it does promise to be), we will be in the Napier Greenway for a work party tomorrow (Monday), starting at 3:00.
The main task these days is raking and bagging up the oak leaves, which don't break down very well, so we can't just leave them as mulch.
Now with Daylight Savings over, we will probably want to call it quits by about 4:00.
Come if you can. We have extra rakes and lots of bags.
Cheers,
Penny
