Hello Britannia Neighbours,
Sorry to do this AGAIN, but we are going to cancel our Britannia Neighbours meeting for November (which had been going to happen on Tues 29th).
Folks had too many conflicts.
Lots of Britannia Neighbours will be going to Pat's Marvellous Arts & Crafts Show & Sale at Pat's house (Saturday Nov 26th & Sunday the 27th, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) and we may chat about Britannia Neighbours there, but our next formal get together will be the Britannia Neighbours Christmas Party Meeting, also at Pat's, on December 20th at 7:30. Please come to that!!
Thanks.
Penny

We did it! Pat and Eva and I planted all the rest of the daffodil bulbs today!!
It was wet and cold and miserable, so we didn't rake or gather many acorns. We'll save that chore for a nicer day.
Done!!
Yay!
Cheers, Penny

Would anyone be interested in a Britannia Neighbours field trip?
Here's a message I just received from Sandy James. Unfortunately, this event is on Election Day and I'm working for COPE all that day so wouldn't be able to go, but if anyone else wants to go, please do!!
Penny

Dear Britannia Neighbours,

Just a reminder that the Avalon Greenway, located between Wales and Clarendon Streets on 43rd Avenue, will have a special greenway planting day on Saturday, November 19, 2005, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

There will be refreshments and fun. Bring your favourite trowel, and come and show us how you planted the Napier Greenway!!

Best wishes,
Sandy James

Sorry, but we need to postpone the meeting we would have had on Tues, November 22nd.
Now our next regular Britannia Neighbours meeting will be on Tues, November 29th, 8:00. Please come if you can.

Also, if the weather is halfway decent, let's meet in the Greenway on Friday, Remembrance Day, from 2-3, to plant the remaining bulbs (daffodils) and gather up as many acorns as we can.

Cheers, Penny

Isn't this a nice photo of Mosaic Creek?

It was such a raw/rainy/cold/miserable day that even though FOUR of us intrepid garden workers showed up for the bulb and acorn event today, we unanimously agreed to cancel it. Thanks to Jane, Margaret, and Eva for Showing Up!

We will try to reconvene next weekend if the weather is more agreeable.

Just a reminder that we're having our bulb-planting and acorn-gathering event, Saturday Nov 5th, at 2:00.

It won't take long if lots of people show up. Let's hope it's not too cold and wet!

Those innocent little acorns become next summer's hard-to-pull-out weeds!
