Hello Green Streets Gardeners!
I hope everyone is having a lovely week and enjoying some of the spring blossoms and bulbs that are coming up. This is a reminder that the Green Streets Annual Plant Swap is happening this Saturday! Find details below.
Saturday, April 21, 2018
1:00 to 4:00 pm
Tupper Neighbourhood Greenway
500 Block East 23rd Avenue
(Between Carolina and St. George)
·         Swap plants & pick-up compost
·         Listen to live music, meet fellow gardeners & enjoy fun craft activities
·         Get information and advice about gardening & garden initiatives
·         Support the Tupper Neighbourhood Greenway
Bring plants, seeds, and bulbs to swap. Please label your plants. I will have some markers and tags available to do so. If you don't know what your plants are there will be Master Gardeners to help with plant identification, as well as fellow gardeners.
If you don't have plants to swap come by anyway and meet your fellow gardeners  and chat with the many knowledgeable people participating in the event.  There will also be the opportunity to get free plants after 3:30 as there are often leftovers.
·         Students from Sir Charles Tupper Secondary will be volunteering by helping with set-up, providing fun craft activities and live music!
·         The Tupper Integrated Neighbourhood Greenway Association known as T.I.N.G.A. will be present to tell their story, invite you to upcoming gardening days and share their beautiful space.
·         The Master Gardeners will be available to answer gardening questions and help you identify plants.
·         The Green Infrastructure team, from the City of Vancouver, will be on hand with information on Green Infrastructure and the Rain City Strategy as well as Bioretention maintenance guidelines for infiltration gardens.
·         Riley Park Community Garden will be there to share what they are doing and let you know how you can take part.
·         Village Vancouver is bringing their seed library and seed saving advice, and to promote their upcoming cooking and gardening workshops.
Hope to see you there!!!
Have a great weekend and happy gardening!
