Fwd: Neighbourhood Planning through Dialogue: Parks and Public Space in Grandview-Woodland

Hi Britannia Neighbours,
If you care about neighbourhood green space in Grandview, and I know you do, you will want to go to one of the two Community Plan dialogue sessions on "Parks and Public Space".
If you want to go, you must register ahead of time.
I've been to two of these sessions so far, one on Arts & Culture and another on Heritage & Character. The way they are structured is really engaging and thought-provoking; a light supper is provided (e.g., sushi, pizza, and samosas at the heritage one).
Grandview is a park-deficient neighbourhood. On the Parks and Greenspaces map the Community Plan people have for display, Napier Square Greenway isn't even shown. We can speak to the need for green space and the need for encouraging people to grow beautiful gardens -- private gardens, community gardens, and guerrilla gardens -- that provide both beauty/decoration and food.
Anyway, please sign up if you are available for one of the two sessions offered. You won't regret it!
And feel free to forward this to other people, people in Grandview, that is, who might be keen to participate.
Cheers,
Penny

Hi everyone,

If you require child minding services for either of the events, please email Beverly Chew (beverly.chew@vancouver.ca) with your requirements.

(NOTE: You can register for up to two spaces in the workshop – but you will need to add the name and contact details for both people when you do.)

A Few More Workshop Details:
Each workshop will start with a brief presentation on Parks and Public Space in Grandview-Woodland, as well an overview of neighbourhood planning work to date.  The workshops will be structured 'world café' style so that participants can share their ideas on a number of topic areas.

We've already heard a lot of ideas about 'what's needed' in the neighbourhood – so part of this workshop will be about building on this input, refining general ideas around neighbourhood parks and public space, and exploring possibilities for neighbourhood-based policy directions.

On-line Component
In addition to the two workshops, we'll also be creating an on-line forum to allow people to engage with the workshop questions.  This forum will go live shortly after the second workshop – and we'll send you a separate email to let you know when this happens. If you can't make either of the workshop dates, or prefer to share your ideas from the comfort of your own home – then please consider logging-on to this aspect of the process.
